3rd Carl Spitzer Memorial Trophy
In honor of Carl Spitzer, who passed away three years ago, this tournament takes place from the end of April to the end of June at the Stork sports facility in Oetwil a. See.
The 3rd CSM Trophy is divided into a 6-week qualifying tournament and a 3-week main tournament. First, the tournament is played in groups of 4 according to the round robin principle. The group winners qualify for the main tournament in a knockout system (subject to change). The finals are also self-organized and take place in the last week of the tournament.
New: If you register for one of the R1/R6 categories of MS 60+ R1/R6 /WS 55+ (and older) and win your category, you can qualify for the play-offs of the 1st Swiss Seniors Tennis Circuit (SSTC24 for short). The play-offs will be self-organized and take place throughout German-speaking Switzerland from 26 August. You can find more information about the SSTC24 here.
How does it work?
The qualifiers are played in groups of 4, i.e. you have 6 weeks to play 3 ranking-relevant matches. In 1 or 2 of these 3 matches you are the host; in the other matches you are the guest. As the host, you are obliged to organize the match, i.e. reserve the court before the match, organize the balls and report the result via the TennisMatch app after the match. Since "no-ad" and "match tie-break" is played in the 3rd set, a match should generally not last longer than 90 minutes. (However, the courts are reserved for 2 hours).
The group winners in each category qualify for the main tournament (subject to change). In groups of 3, the group winner qualifies. The second and third-placed players in the group are given a classification match against an opponent of equal strength. The date indicated in the Swiss Tennis Tableau is the last possible match date. This date applies if the players cannot agree on another date.
The winners of the main round go through to the final. The finals are self-organized and take place in the last week of the tournament. If there is only one group per category, there is no final. The group winner is then also the category winner.
The tournament regulations of Swiss Tennis and, in addition, the TennisMatch regulations version CSMT24 apply. Here you will also find the TennisMatch Code of Conduct.
Here you can find the current interim results (file is updated weekly on Sunday)
