Bern Summer Trophy 2023
Description
The BST'23 consists of a qualification phase and a main round. The first stage is played in groups of four according to the round robin principle. The group winners in each category qualify for the main round. The final for the category winners will take place on August 26/27 (final location to be announced). This will also be the only fixed date of the tournament.
What's new at BST'23
- Self-organized and app-supported tournament
- min. 3, max. 6 ranking-relevant matches
- Flexible, individual appointments via the TennisMatch app
- better planning of matches, as only one match per day
- ..
How does it work?
In the qualification you will play self-organized in groups of 4, i.e. you have 5 weeks to play 3 ranking-relevant matches. You are either host or guest in each match. As host you are obliged to organize the match, i.e. to arrange the date via chat, to bring (new) balls, to reserve the court in the center and to report the result to the official via the TennisMatch app after the match. Two winning sets are played; match tiebreak (10) applies for the 3rd set. Please note that "No Ad" applies , i.e. in the event of a deuce, the next ball decides who wins the match. The returner decides which side to serve on.
If a player can only play twice in the group phase and does not make it to the main round, he is entitled to one more classification match. This means that the official organizes another match against an opponent of approximately equal strength.
In the main round , the 1/4, 1/2 finals and the final are played per category depending on the number of participants. Each match is also organized by the players themselves. The date indicated in the Swisstennis tableau is the last possible date. This applies if the players cannot agree on another date.
The finalists in each category then play against each other in the final. The tournament regulations are the invitation to tender, the TennisMatch regulations and the Swisstennis tournament regulations.

About the TennisMatch app
Chat with your opponent and make an appointment with him/her. After the match, enter the result in the TennisMatch app.
After the draw, the "host" receives an invitation on the app to organize the match. At the same time, the guest receives a message that the host will approach them. The prerequisite is, of course, that both have the TennisMatch app installed. You can find it under the keyword "Tennis Match" in the respective iOS and Android app stores.
