Description

The BST'24 consists of a qualification phase and a main round. The first stage is played in groups of 4 according to the round robin principle. The group winners and runners-up in each category qualify for the main round, which is played in a knockout system. The final for the category winners will take place on September 21 (final venue to be announced). This will also be the only fixed date of the tournament.

What's new at BST'24

  • The BST24 is integrated into the 1st Swiss Seniors Tennis Circuit 2024 (SSTC24). You can find more details here.
  • Balls: The players (hosts) bring their own balls and do not have to collect them from a ball hub. These must be new, Swisstennis certified balls.

How does it work?

In the qualification phase, you play in self-organized groups of 4, i.e. you have 8 weeks to play 3 ranking-relevant matches. If a player can only play twice in the group phase and does not make it to the main round, he is entitled to one more ranking match. This means that the official organizes another match against an opponent of approximately equal strength.

In the main round , the 1/4, 1/2 finals and the final are played per category depending on the number of participants. Each match is also organized by the players themselves. The date indicated in the Swisstennis tableau is the last possible date.

The finalists in each category then play against each other in the final. The tournament regulations are the invitation to tender, the TennisMatch regulations and the Swisstennis tournament regulations.

The Swisstennis Tournament Regulations (TUR) and, in addition, the TennisMatch Regulations apply.

Game mode

  • Two winning sets are played; the 3rd set is a match tiebreak (10).
  • "No Ad", i.e. in the case of a deuce, the next ball decides who wins the game. The returner decides which side to serve on.
  • The maximum play-in time is 10 minutes

About the TennisMatch app

Chat with your opponent and make an appointment with him/her. After the match, enter the result in the TennisMatch app.

After the draw, the "host" receives an invitation on the app to organize the match. At the same time, the guest receives a message that the host will approach them. The prerequisite is, of course, that both have the TennisMatch app installed. You can find it under the keyword "Tennis Match" in the respective iOS and Android app stores.
