Description

The Bern Spring Trophy 2025 (tournament no. 149644) will take place from the end of January to the end of March as a self-organized and app-supported tournament.

The tournament consists of:

Qualification round (6 weeks)
Main round & finals (3 weeks)

In the qualifying round, players are divided into groups of four and play three ranking-relevant individual matches. Each match is played either as host or guest (see "Host/guest model"). The group winners qualify for the main round and the final.

In the main round & finals, the semi-finals and finals are played per category, depending on the number of participants. These matches are also self-organized. The date indicated on the app is the last possible match date.

The games are played in the partner centers listed below.

Match organization and procedure

Players taking part in a self-organized tournament for the first time (so-called TM rookies) will receive detailed instructions by e-mail the day after the draw and can then download the TennisMatch app (TM app) for iOS and Android (*)
Visibility of matches: Matches will be visible to all participants on the TM app no later than 3 days after the draw
Contact opponents via the chat function in the TM app. (please reply within 24 hours)
Make an appointment and enter the match date in the TM app.
Court reservation by the host in one of the partner centers. Court rental for 2 hours is included in the entry fee, but not the balls.
Playing the match. Game mode: 2 - winning sets; 3rd set match tie break (10) ; "no Ad" (**)

(*) So-called TM pros have already taken part in a self-organized tournament and already have the TM app. You do not need to take this first step. Please make sure that you have downloaded the latest version.

(**) As the match duration is limited to 2 hours, you have to play quickly to get through in 2 hours. An important rule is therefore "no ad". "No ad" means that when the score is deuce, the next point counts towards winning or losing the game. The return player can decide which side to serve to.

In categories with only one group, there is no intermediate round and no final, but only a main round (round robin).

Prices

All group winners will receive a voucher from Beliani.ch worth CHF 50 as a prize.

Entry fee

CHF 130.- (Included are all court rentals in the center. The balls are not included).

Payment must be made by the time of the draw at the latest.

About the TennisMatch app

Chat with your opponent and make an appointment with him/her. After the match, enter the result in the TennisMatch app.

After the draw, the "host" receives an invitation on the app to organize the match. At the same time, the guest receives a message that the host will approach them. The prerequisite is, of course, that both have the TennisMatch app installed. You can find it under the keyword "Tennis Match" in the respective iOS and Android app stores.
