Description

The Bernese Oberland Winter Trophy 24/25 (short: BO-WT`24/25) is a self-organized tournament and started at the end of November. It consists of an 8-week qualification phase and a main round with final (5 weeks). First, the tournament is played in groups of 4 according to the round robin principle. The group winners in each category qualify for the main round and the final. The categories are limited to 16 players.

Your advantages:

  • min. 3, max. 5 ranking-relevant matches within 11 weeks
  • Flexible, individual appointments via the TennisMatch app
  • low entry fee: you pay a maximum of CHF 43 per match, less if you advance
  • better planning of matches, as only one match per day
  •  ..

How does it work?

1) Qualification/preliminary round

In the qualification you will play self-organized in groups of 4, i.e. you have 8 weeks to play 3 ranking-relevant matches. You are either host or guest in each match. As the host, you are obliged to organize the match, i.e. to arrange the date via chat on the APP, to bring (new) balls, to reserve the court in the center and to report the result to the official via the TennisMatch app after the match. Two winning sets are played; match tiebreak (10) applies for the 3rd set. Attention "No Ad" applies.

2nd main round

In the main round , 1/2 finals and the final are played per category depending on the number of participants. Each match is also organized by the players themselves. The date indicated on the TM is the last possible date. If the players cannot agree on a date in time and the match therefore does not take place, the winner will be drawn by lot.

The Swisstennis Tournament Regulations (TUR) and, in addition, the TennisMatch Regulations apply.

Guest/host model

The game is played in self-organized, app-supported mode. This means that you are either the host or the guest for each match. As the host, you are obliged to organize the match, i.e. to arrange the date, reserve the court and bring the balls, as well as to report the result to the official via the TM app after the match. As a guest, you have a duty to cooperate in finding a date.

Match organization and procedure

The following steps are taken the day after the draw:
  1. Participants will receive detailed instructions by e-mail and can use them to download the TennisMatch app (TM app) for iOS and Android (*)
  2. Contact by the host with the opponent via the chat function in the TM app.
  3. Making an appointment and entering the play date in the TM app. (Obligation of the guest to cooperate)
  4. Seat reservation by the host in one of the partner centers. Please note: the TM app is not a seat reservation system
  5. Implementation of the meeting.
  6. Results entered in the TM app by the host and guest confirm the result.

(*) The TM app is an "on invitation only" app. This means that it can only be downloaded from the network with the appropriate password and username (email address). You will receive this and further information about the TM app by email immediately on the day after the draw.

Communication

Communication between the players to arrange appointments takes place primarily via the TM-AP. Match dates must be arranged and results entered on the TM app. The TM app can be used for both chatting and speaking (call function). The eOfficial has access to the players' chats and can intervene if necessary.

Please note: From the TM app, a player can only contact the official via the hotline (icon top right) or by email, but not via the chat. The official has access to the chats and can enter messages if necessary.

Seat reservation

The host is responsible for course reservations. This is done via the court reservation systems of the individual centers and clubs. (Please note that the TM app is not a court reservation system).

The availability of places varies greatly from location to location. There is usually free capacity during the day and at weekends. Evenings are almost always filled with fixed reservations. Reservations should therefore be made well in advance. Here, too, you can book either online, by telephone or by email.

About the TennisMatch app

Chat with your opponent and make an appointment with him/her. After the match, enter the result in the TennisMatch app.

After the draw, the "host" receives an invitation on the app to organize the match. At the same time, the guest receives a message that the host will approach them. The prerequisite is, of course, that both have the TennisMatch app installed. You can find it under the keyword "Tennis Match" in the respective iOS and Android app stores.
