Description

The Sportfeld Winter Trophy consists of a qualifying phase and a main round. The first stage is played in groups of four according to the round robin principle. The group winners in each category qualify for the main round.

How does it work?

In the group phase, you play in self-organized groups of 4, i.e. you have 7 weeks to play 3 ranking-relevant matches. You are either host or guest in each match. As the host, you are obliged to organize the match, i.e. arrange the date via chat, organize balls, reserve the court in the center and also report the result to the official via the TennisMatch app after the match. Two winning sets are played; match tiebreak (10) applies for the 3rd set. Attention "No Ad" applies

In the main round , the 1/2 finals and the final are played in the cluster per category. Each match is organized by the players themselves. The date specified in the Swiss Tennis Tableau is the last possible date. This applies if the players cannot agree on another date.

Match organization and procedure

Players taking part in a self-organized tournament for the first time (so-called TM rookies) will receive detailed instructions by e-mail the day after the draw and can then download the TennisMatch app (TM app) for iOS and Android (*)
Visibility of matches: Matches will be visible to all participants on the TM app no later than 3 days after the draw
Contact opponents via the chat function in the TM app. (please reply within 24 hours)
Make an appointment and enter the match date in the TM app.
Court reservation by the host in one of the partner centers. Court rental (2 hours) is included in the entry fee (balls are not).
Playing the match. Game mode: 2 - winning sets; 3rd set match tie break (10) ; "no Ad" (**)

(*) So-called TM pros have already taken part in a self-organized tournament and already have the TM app. You do not need to take this first step. Please make sure that you have downloaded the latest version.

(**) As the match duration is limited to 2 hours, you have to play quickly to get through in 2 hours. An important rule is therefore "no ad". "No ad" means that when the score is deuce, the next point counts towards winning or losing the game. The return player can decide which side to serve to.

Communication

Communication between the players to arrange appointments takes place primarily via the TM-AP. Match dates must be arranged and results entered on the TM app. The TM app can be used for both chatting and speaking (call function). The eOfficial has access to the players' chats and can intervene if necessary.

Please note: From the TM app, a player can only contact the official via the hotline (icon top right) or by email, but not via the chat. The official has access to the chats and can enter messages if necessary.

Prices

The group winners of the qualification will each receive a voucher from Beliani.ch worth CHF 50.
All participants will receive a stringing voucher worth CHF 20, which can be redeemed at Sporfeld Gründenmoos.

Entry fee: CHF 130.- per person. (incl. course rental)

The registration is only valid after receipt of the entry fee.

About the TennisMatch app

Chat with your opponent and make an appointment with him/her. After the match, enter the result in the TennisMatch app.

After the draw, the "host" receives an invitation on the app to organize the match. At the same time, the guest receives a message that the host will approach them. The prerequisite is, of course, that both have the TennisMatch app installed. You can find it under the keyword "Tennis Match" in the respective iOS and Android app stores.
