The ZurichLeague training platform 2021

News (updated June 7, 2021)

The 1/2 finals in the 3 clusters have been completed. The finals will follow, which should be completed by June 27.

Here you can find the current ranking list for all clusters.

Description

The ZL Training Platform 2021, or ZL-TP'21 for short, is the first self-organized, cross-club and app-supported training platform in Switzerland.

The aim of the ZL-TP'21 is to apply and improve your gamestrategies and tactics in one-hour training matches. Both licensed and non-licensed players are eligible to play.

Geographically, the ZL-TP'21 is divided into the following four clusters : "Pfannenstiel", "Zimmerberg", "City of Zurich" and "Obersee". You play your home matches in the cluster in which your club is located (see list here), or in the center of your choice.

The game is played in groups of 5 (possibly 4) according to the round robin principle, so that you play four matches if possible. For this purpose, the game master divides the participants into groups of equal strength. If necessary, cross-cluster groups can also be formed.

What's new?

  • first self-organized and cross-club training platform for licensed and non-licensed players
  • four max. six matches between April 12 and June 20, 2021
  • Flexible, individual appointment scheduling directly via the TM app
  • Matches are easy to plan, as the match lasts a maximum of 60 minutes. minutes
  • Simulation of the competition situation
  • The game is played in mixed groups of 5 players of roughly equal strength

How it works

The players organize their matches independently within their group. Each player is the "host" for two of the four matches and the "guest" for the other two matches.

As the host, you are responsible for the organization of the match, i.e. you

  • arrange the time and place of the match with your opponent using the TM app,
  • reserve a place for the appointment in your club or center and
  • report the result to the match manager after the match using the TM app.

As the host, you also decide whether you play your two host matches in your club or in a center (see accredited centers). If you want or have to play your host matches in a center, you will pay the court rental on site. In return, you will be invited to your guest matches by your opponent.

Via the TM app you will receive information from the game master about when you should play against and by when and in which matches you are the host or guest.

Mode

The mode for the matches is as follows:

  • The game is played to 8 games - "no-ad"; in case of 7/7 there is a tiebreak to 7.
  • The duration of the match is exactly 55 minutes. (excl. 5 min. warm-up time); each match ends on the hour.
  • Each game won gives one point; winning a match gives two bonus points.
  • New: Qualification for KO phase:
    - Cluster PS and ZB: The 8 best qualify for the KO phase (5 group winners and 3 group runners-up (on points))
    - Zurich cluster: The 4 best qualify for the KO phase - (3 group winners and 1 group runner-up (on points))
The KO phase starts on June 1 and ends on June 20.

Classification of the training groups according to self-assessment

In order to be able to divide the participants into groups of equal strength, we need your SwissTennis ranking. If you do not have a SwissTennis ranking (NC), we need a self-assessment of your playing strength. The following levels are available for selection:

  • SwissTennis R9 (NC Beginner 1)
  • SwissTennis R8 (NC Beginner 2 (more than 1 year playing experience)
  • SwissTennis R7 (NC Advanced)
  • SwissTennis R6 (NC Expert)
  • SwissTennis R3 - R5 (NC Profi)

We will make mixed groups if necessary. The women's rankings are approx. 1-2 levels lower than the men's rankings. This means that we will place an R5 lady in an R6 or R7 men's group if possible. In addition, we will take age into consideration when making the grouping if possible.

If we see that the division does not fit, we will make redistributions during the 1st season.

If there are only 4 in a group on April 12th, we will start anyway and count on the group completing itself over time.
